During the second semester of my ESP class I had to do a lot of different tasks and exercises. I would like to talk about the things that I have done and try to evaluate my performance and notice things that I have learned.
WRITING. Firstly, I would like to talk about writing exercises which included summaries. During this semester I wrote quite many summaries. I believe that it is very good that we practiced a lot. I could easily say that I improved in writing summaries.
SPEAKING. What is more, my favorite tasks were speaking tasks. I enjoyed talking. Although I would not say that my skills changed so much since I started my ESP classes. But I believe that the speaking themes were interesting and I liked giving my opinion on them.
LISTENING. Furthermore, I did many listening tasks this semester. I think my performance in these exercises was quite good. I enjoyed doing both cassettes and online listening tasks. I believe that my performance in both types of exercises was the same.
ESP VOCABLUARY. Moreover, I did a lot of ESP vocabulary tests this semester. There were three different types of vocabulary tests: formal tests in class, class tests online and moodle tests. I believe that this was the most difficult part of ESP course. Usually I did quite well with the vocabulary tests in classes, although the formal tests were a bit challenging. It is quite interesting that my performance was much better when I had to write the whole definition during the formal test in class. I think I did a good job with moodle exercises.
All in all, I should say that I improved a lot in ESP vocabulary and that is very important for my future studies. Besides, I had to do many speaking tasks and PPP. These things helped to improve public speaking.
